Recently opened in Guillemard Road, HEY KEE is a fresh addition to Singapore's dining scene, bringing the authentic charm of Hong Kong's dai pai dong (大排档) right here. The place is buzzing, and after looking at its decor and tasting the food, we can totally understand the hype!

HEY KEE is all about nostalgia and comfort food. The 110-seat indoor dining area is decked out with mosaic-tiled floors, red lampshades reminiscent of wet markets, and jade green tables that will take you back to old-school mahjong parlours. Make sure to snap a few photos at their unique spots, like the faux barber corner and the bus stop. There's also a spacious outdoor area and a private dining room decked out like a Hong Kong living room, complete with karaoke - perfect for large groups looking to have a good time.

The brains behind this spot, Mr. Reuben Chua and Mr. Keith Kang, have combined their love for traditional flavours with a dash of modern flair. The result is a menu that's both comforting and exciting.

‘Typhoon Shelter ‘ style Stir Fried Crab 避风塘炒蟹

This iconic dish is a must-try. The crabs are fried with air-dried minced garlic, fermented black beans, chili, and scallions, creating a rich and flavourful experience. The crispy garlic bits add an extra layer of texture to the dish. It sure requires some effort to eat this dish, but it's definitely worth it.

‘Temple Street’ Crispy Roast Chicken 庙街风沙鸡

Fancy some crispy chicken? This one's air-dried for 12 hours before being deep-fried. The result is a perfect crunchy outside with a tender and juicy inside. The meat is reminiscent of salt-baked chicken, with golden-yellow layers of fat under the skin. The mix of garlic, shallots, and spices adds an extra punch of flavour.
