Simply amazing and downright hearty burgers. It leans towards the pricier side for sure, but I think the quality more than justifies the price tag. Buns were golden and fluffy, firm enough to hold up all the ingredients while soaking up all the sauces and juices. We had the Honbo 2.0 that came with 4 crispy patties, and of course it was a touch salty (3 slices of cheese and 4 patties here), but every component was well executed and I’d dare say this is the best smashed patty I’ve had. The Gold Standard’s more balanced with thicker, juicier patties and crisp fresh onions to cut through all those rich flavours — perfect for those wanting a classic, hearty burger. The staff were also all really friendly and smiley, made us feel super welcomed! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Nobelle Liew

When we first heard about Honbo opening in Singapore, we couldn't wait to try it. Known for serving some of the best burgers in Hong Kong, and even making it to Bloomberg's list of the World's Best Burgers, the expectations were sky-high. Our colleagues from Hong Kong had always raved about their burgers, and now, we finally had the chance to see what the fuss was all about.

In case you're wondering what Honbo means, it translates to 'hamburger' 漢堡包 (hon bou baau) in Cantonese. Here, it's all about American-style smashed burgers, crafted with top-notch ingredients to create flavors tailored for the Asian palate. And true to their commitment to quality, – everything, from the patties to the buns, is made entirely from scratch, using only the finest ingredients to create a truly authentic and delicious burger experience.

Signature Dishes

HONBO 1.5

Among Honbo's burger lineup, the namesake Honbo stands out with two crispy beef patties, cheese, pickles, onion, and house sauce. But for those who crave more, there's the Honbo 1.5 with three patties and the Honbo 2.0 with four. We decided to try the Honbo 1.5, and it was a decision well made.

The first thing that struck me was the juiciness of the beef patties. Despite their size, they weren’t overly greasy, striking the perfect balance between indulgence and flavour. Holding the burger was a pleasure in itself, thanks to the soft, pillowy potato buns.

The Gold Standard

If you're looking to go big, The Gold Standard is your best bet. This luxurious option includes two thick beef patties, double cheese, applewood smoked bacon, pickles, lettuce, onion, and house sauce, all sandwiched between house-made potato milk buns. The pickles, typically not my go-to, added an unexpected burst of sweetness that I surprisingly enjoyed. Overall, it’s an impressive burger that truly lives up to its name.

The Teriyaki Chicken Burger

For non-beef eaters, Honbo offers a range of options, including the Teriyaki Chicken Burger. The organic chicken is sous-vide for 4 hours for optimal tenderness, then grilled to achieve a caramelized exterior, and topped with a delicious house-made teriyaki sauce.

Seasonal Specials: Scallop Burger

While we were there, we had the pleasure of trying the limited-time special Scallop Burger. This burger features plump, sashimi-grade scallops, lightly seared and topped with a wasabi-laced Pico de Gallo verde. The combination of the tender scallops with the zesty and slightly spicy topping was a delightful surprise. Be sure to keep an eye out for their next seasonal special!
