Newly opened in November, Kaen brings a slice of Japanese izakaya culture to the city with a twist. By day, it's a haven for donburi lovers; by night, it transforms into a kushiyaki bar, offering an array of grilled skewers that are a delight for the senses. The chef, with 20 years of experience, offers a menu that blends traditional and innovative dishes.

The space is warm and welcoming, with wooden interiors and a unique design that includes a charming Totoro mascot at the entrance. Whether you're planning a casual meet up or a private event, Kaen's intimate setting, accommodating around 25-30 guests, makes it an ideal choice.

Bara Chirashi Donburi (Available Day + Night)

One of their bestsellers, the Bara Chirashi Donburi is not only a feast for the palate with its fresh cubes of sashimi, but it's also a visual delight, beautifully laid out in a kaleidoscope of colours.

Kaen Waygu Donburi (Available Day + Night)

For those who crave something even more decadent, the Kaen Wagyu Donburi is also as exquisite to look at as it is to eat, featuring A5 Miyazaki Wagyu beef, uni, ikura, onsen egg, all crowned with shavings of black truffle.

Kushiyaki (Night menu only)

As the day turns to night, the restaurant transitions into a kushiyaki haven. Each skewer is grilled over charcoal, infusing the meats with a distinctive charred flavour that's hard to forget. If you're new to Kushiyaki, opt for their curated bundle of 6, 8, or 10 sticks set. We particularly liked their chicken liver and pork belly with leek.
